In September 2020, Andrew and I escaped to the desert landscapes of Joshua Tree National Park. Even in the late summer heat, the park was alive with a quiet energy — otherworldly rock formations, endless skies, and those iconic Joshua trees standing like sculptures across the horizon.

We spent the day weaving between massive boulders, wandering short trails, and soaking in the surreal beauty that makes Joshua Tree feel like nowhere else on earth. It was the kind of place that slows you down and makes you look closer — at the texture of the desert floor, the curve of a cactus spine, the colors shifting as the sun dipped lower.

This trip became one of our favorite snapshots of 2020. It wasn’t just about being in the park, but about being together in a wide-open place that felt both grounding and inspiring.

🎥 We put together a short video from the day — click below to see our view of Joshua Tree, from the winding drives through desert roads to the sun setting across the rocks.
