Canyon Lands National Park • Utah 2020

In 2020 we set out on a road trip through Utah, and one of the highlights was our first visit to Canyonlands National Park.

After spending nearly 24 hours exploring Moab and hiking around Arches National Park, we drove a little farther to catch a glimpse of Canyonlands. The scenery was absolutely stellar. Towering mesas, deep canyons, and endless desert views reminded us how small we really are compared to this vast landscape.

Because we had packed so much into the trip already, our time here was short. Even with just a quick stop, we knew right away we’d need to plan a return visit. There’s simply too much to see in one day—from Island in the Sky overlooks to backcountry trails that stretch for miles.

Canyonlands left us with the kind of travel itch you can’t ignore. We’ll definitely be going back to explore more in depth, and next time we’ll give this incredible park the time it deserves.
