On our way….

In August 2020, after revisiting Breckenridge, Colorado in July, we set our sights on something new: Park City, Utah. While it’s famous for world-class skiing, Park City in summer offers scenic drives, mountain activities, and a lively food scene that makes it a fantastic warm-weather destination.
where to eat in park city
- Pizza: Try Davanza’s for a casual local vibe.
- Beer: Red Rock Brewery offers a great craft selection.
- Whiskey: Don’t miss High West Distillery, one of Park City’s best-known stops.
- Coffee & Books: Cozy up at Atticus Coffee & Teahouse, a community hub with books and a laid-back atmosphere.
- Dessert: Windy Ridge Café for indulgent treats.
Traveler note: We had a great dinner at Main Street Pizza & Noodle (garlic knots + hand-tossed pepperoni with Canadian bacon). Despite mixed online reviews, our service was friendly, and the crust was perfectly crisp.
Things to Do in park city (summer)
- Summer Activities: From hiking and biking to alpine slides, Park City transforms into a hub of outdoor adventure when the snow melts.
- Scenic Drives: Don’t miss Guardsman Pass Scenic Backway. The winding road offers panoramic mountain views and is one of the most stunning drives in the Wasatch Range.
- Day Trips: Park City makes a great base for exploring northern Utah. Dinosaur National Monument is just under three hours away and well worth the drive if you’re looking for a mix of natural beauty and prehistoric history.
where to stay
We stayed at the Marriott Summit Watch, right on Main Street — perfect for walking to restaurants and shops.
insider travel tips
- Stay Hydrated: Park City sits at over 7,000 feet. Drink plenty of water and take it slow if you’re not used to the altitude.
- Best Time to Visit: Summer days are warm, but mornings and evenings can be cool in the mountains — pack layers.
- Plan Ahead: Popular restaurants like High West Distillery often need reservations, even in the off-season.
